SUPER SUNDAY!

So, yesterday was the Super Bowl for us US football fans! We intended on just having some burgers and brats and some chips, queso, and salsa. (pepperoni crisps for me!) Then we invited a couple of friends over. No big deal! While at church, one of our OTHER friends said he was just going to stay home because his wife was in Florida. So we invited him over as well. So it was 6 of us watching the “Big Game!”

I made WAY too much food. Lol but it was all stuff I can eat (minus the chips and buns)!  We had burgers, brats, mozzarella and tomatoes, queso, salsa, tortilla chips, pepperoni crisps (which were a big hit with the non low Carbers), shrimp, and jalapeno poppers,! There was quite a bit of food left over! We had a fun night.

The game itself was a bit of a disaster. I won’t give any spoilers away since I know SOME people don’t watch live. At one point we got into a discussion about American Idol versus Americas Got Talent. One of or friends said that a singer always wins AGT. We started telling him about Kenichi Ebina that won last year and went to YouTube to watch a couple of his performances. (if you haven’t heard of him, seriously YouTube him. Right now! I’ll wait!)

My puppy decided that the pepperoni crisps were for HER and decided to have a few bites. I was a LITTLE bit upset. Those things were good! Of course, that didn’t make me stop eating them. 😉

Overall, we had a great night, joked with friends who were rooting for the loser team, tho THEY didn’t find it as funny. 😉 it was a great night, filled with great friends and great food.

This morning I had a leftover cheeseburger for breakfast. Life is good!

Hope everyone had a great week! 😀

  1. Sounds like you had a great day yesterday, Jacque. Although the game wasn’t so super, the parties usually are.

As far as AGT, and those types of shows, my issue resides with the performers rarely presenting their own material. What it amounts to are the winners being glorified cover singers or cover bands. I think that more emphasis ought to be placed on the composition part of the performance. Maybe he or she sings a famous song really well, but that doesn’t translate into being successful performing their own music.

    • That’s very true! The one singer that made it really far, the woman, she was really good! Even tho she was singing others songs, she arranged them in new ways, which made it really interesting! A lot if time, the judges tell them they should sing others songs because they are more widely known. I thought the top contenders last year were all really good. Taylor was my favorite tho. 🙂
