Took a little break!

I took my weight last week, and I was down to 203! Woohoo!

Since my daughter is home for Christmas break, I lost track of the days and forgot to weigh in today. Oops!!

We had a really nice small Christmas here at home. I made a turkey breast, some fauxtatoes, and green beans. We had gravy as well. I did have a little bit, but not much. I also made a pumpkin custard. THAT was my downfall. I ate almost the whole thing. :-/ I don’t think that I’ve gained any actual weight, but, I do think I need to cut down on the carbs a bit. πŸ˜‰

I introduced my 10 year old to the movie Clueless yesterday and now she can’t stop watching it! I think I’ve created a monster. I do have to admit that I do sorta love the movie tho. I hope it doesn’t go to her head!

On the 1st, I’m going to start doing yoga and pilates. I’ve bookmarked several on youtube. I’ll be a beginner at both. I do have some Beachbody and Jillian Michaels workout DVDs, but, since I had knee surgery, it’s difficult to do most of them. Hopefully I will be able to get some muscles starting. πŸ™‚

Ch-ch-ch-changin’!

So, I’ve been doing some thinking.

I would really like to be able to make this blog something big! I would like to be able to help people and find products that I like and do sponsored posts and all kinds of other things.

There in lies the problem.

WordPress says that I cannot do any of those things.

I can’t have sponsors. I can’t do sponsored posts. I can’t advertise at all or they will shut down my blog, even if I’m paying for them to host it.

So, I’ve been thinking about moving my blog to blogger. Would you, my readers (all handful of you! πŸ˜‰ ), still read my blog if I moved it?

I’m not saying that I would become an advertising extraordinaire, but if I want to get something to test, and be paid or even just receive products for free to try, then I would like to be able to do that without worrying that I’m going to have my blog shut down. Does that make sense?

I don’t want to lose my readers tho! You tell me. What do you think about me moving my blog?

Low Carb Hot Chocolate

It’s starting to get colder here in the southwest corner of North Carolina, and one of my FAVORITE things on a cold day is to snuggle up on the couch with a mug of hot chocolate and watch some TV, usually something from my Hulu account that I’ve missed.

When I started on my Atkins journey last month, I didn’t even THINK about all the things that I was used to doing that I wouldn’t be able to do any more. I never in a million years would have thought something as simple as a mug of hot chocolate could make me sad, but, I really did miss that this past week.

Until yesterday!! I found a wonderful recipe for Low Carb hot chocolate (also known as Bulletproof hot chocolate) on an Atkins facebook group that I’m on, so I thought I would pass it on to all of you! πŸ™‚

Ingredients:

  • Β 1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons cocoa powder, the unsweetened kind that you find in the baking section Β (I use Hershey’s)
  • 2-4 tablespoons coconut oil OR butter
  • 2-3 packets of sweetener (I used under a tablespoon of Splenda)
  • 3 tablespoons of HWC (Heavy Whipping Cream)

Pour a mugful of hot water into your blender. Β Add ingredients and blend thoroughly.

Β It will be rich, frothy and delicious.

Only 2.26 net carbs! If you don’t have a blender (like my sister…. LOL) I say go get one!! It’s completely worth it, and you can usually find them at thrift shops for a few bucks. I will admit, the next time I make it, I might add just a smidge more Splenda, but overall it was DELICIOUS and hit the spot!

Friday Weigh-in!

Good morning folks!!! I meant to post this yesterday, but, my mom and son flew in from Houston! Well, actually, they were SUPPOSED to be here Thursday, but their connecting flight was cancelled and they spent the night in Charlotte and flew in yesterday morning.

Anyways! I’ll just get down to the nitty gritty!!

On Friday I weighed 205.3! YEAH BABY!!!! That’s a total of 18.7 pounds lost.

I have an appointment to have my blood work redone on the 16th. I’m REALLY hoping that my insulin numbers are much better. I’m also hoping to be closer to that 200 mark as well. I don’t think it’s a good goal to lose 5 pounds in the next week. LOL

As soon as I know, y’all will know! πŸ™‚

For now, I’m off to make breakfast, and spend some more time with my family! ❀
