Post Thanksgiving weigh in

Well, today is “Black Friday,” the busiest shopping day of the year. Well, I’ve got everyones Christmas presents done, except for my Momma, and stocking stuffers.

I got my son, who will be 15 in December, Battlefield 4, a Minecraft t-shirt, and a Legends of Zelda t-shirt. I think that I’m going to get him an iTunes gift card and maybe a razor as a stocking stuffer. My daughter, who is 10 1/2 (the half is SUPER important!), got a combo straightening/curling iron, a new hair dryer, and a 48 piece nail polish set. I can’t say what I’m going to get my Momma, because I think she reads my blog. πŸ˜‰ I’m also thinking about getting my husband a new electric razor for his birthday/Christmas present. He always says he doesn’t want anything, but, I always get him something practical that I know he will use and he is always happy and thankful.

ANYWAYS! Thanksgiving!!!!!! I had a great time! It was at our friend Amys house again this year. Β She always does a BIG Thanksgiving. We had grown the turkeys at our place this year, and apparently we’re being “selected” to grow them for next year as well! LOL So, I’m already looking at prices for turkey for next year. We did have fun raising them, so it is something that we would do again I think. πŸ™‚ I don’t THINK I went over my carb limit, but I guess it will depend on how many carbs the pumpkin bake I made was. (The recipe said 7 or 9 depending on if you used liquid or granular Splenda, and I made a double batch and only used half the Splenda… so….. I dunno! LOL) I tried to cut the pieces for myself small, but, you never know. If I WAS over, it wasn’t by a whole lot. I stuck with meat, cheese, more meat, a couple pieces of my pumpkin bake with whipped cream, and meat. Oh, and 1 glass of wine and meat.

My weigh in this morning I was at 209.2, exactly 1 pound more than I was last week, but, after all the meat I ate yesterday, I’m not super worried! (I ate a LOT of meat!!!) Did I mention I ate a lot of meat? πŸ˜‰


Rainy night

So, it’s rainy tonight. All I want to do is snuggle up on the couch with some ice cream and watch TV. What is it with rainy nights (or cold nights) that make you want to do that? BAD BODY!!

I resisted tho. I made myself some sugar free jello and some homemade whipped cream for the top. Delicious!

In 2 days it will be one of the largest eating days of the year. I’m going to someone elses house, and I WILL be strong! That way when I step on the scale Friday morning I can say WOOHOO! and report how much weight I’ve lost. πŸ˜‰

Week 3 weigh in

So, today has been a very busy day. Since we’re eating Thanksgiving at our friends house, and our other friend is moving, I got the torch passed to me on the Thanksgiving day shopping. Well, our friends husband was rushed to the hospital for blood clots in his lungs, so, it was just me and her. (He’s fine btw, they caught it in time!)

Well, for our first stop of the day, we grabbed 2 carts at Sams Club, and we filled them both pretty much up!! We packed up my truck, and headed to our next stop, WalMart! I got a few things that I was still needing for the week, and did a little “recon” for Christmas gifts. My son is getting Battlefield 4, which is the only thing that he’s asked for and a couple of gamer shirts as well as a couple toy guns that I got for him to try for free, The lil miss is getting a straightening iron that is also a curling iron, a new blow dryer, and a manicure set with some nail polishes. I hope that this will be sufficient and that they will both be happy with the gifts that they get this year. I’m thinking about getting my husband a new electric razor. He is on blood thinners and if he were to nick his face, it could be difficult to get it to stop bleeding, so he doesn’t shave that much. It drives me CRAZY!! He spent the first 4 years of our relationship smooth faced, and before I met him, all my boyfriends were clean shaven as well. I’m not one for facial hair. I’ve asked for a nice fluffy bath robe. Our final stop for the day was Food Lion and then back to her house to unload everything!

Tonight, I made broiled parmesan swai and broccoli. I think that has become my favorite meal! It’s SO GOOD!

Oh yeah!! I weighed myself this morning! My official 3 week weight is 208.2! That’s a total of 15.8 pounds for 3 weeks. Which also means I only lost 3 pounds this week. Kind of a lacking 3rd week considering in my first 2 weeks I lost over 12! LOL It’s okay tho! I’ll take it! I was told that my face looks thinner today. I don’t see it, but, I’ll take any compliments that come my way! πŸ˜‰

Size 16

So, tonight I had a pretty awesome victory, and I’ll tell you about it after story time.

Not so long ago, in a land very close, there was this smokin’ hot chickΒ attractive young lady, who was moving away from everyone she knew and loved so she could get her head on straight and her life back on track. (This lady was me btw.)

Anyways! When I first moved to NC, I was just wearing some of my old clothes because I was just accustomed to wearing them. I finally went to get some new pants, and the sales lady handed me a size 3. I told her that there was no way in the world that I would ever fit into a size 3. I tried them on, and low and behold, I fit in a size 3. I was also pretty much skin and bone. At 5’8″ tall, I was all of 125 pounds. I was WAY too skinny. (I should be around 145 for my height and bone structure)

I can honestly say that I don’t ever want to be THAT small again!

Today, I was talking with one of my friends on facebook, and I told her that I had lost 15 pounds (or so) and that I was fitting in my husbands old size 36 jeans. It felt nice to be able to go down a size! Well, my sister is also doing Atkins, and her and I have a competition to see who can get to a size 16 first. Well, my friend told me that she was rooting for me and I told her that I was going to try on my size 16s to see if they fit. I was actually surprise when I put them on, buttoned them up, and zipped! Oh my goodness!!! THEY FIT!!!

Well… not quite. LOL They weren’t exactly comfortable, and I had a bit of a muffin top, but, they DID zip! Of course, I’m of the school of thinking that says “just because it zips, doesn’t mean it fits.” I think it saves a lot of eyes that way. πŸ˜‰

I think that if I were to get 1 pair of size 18 jeans, that they would fit, but as quickly as I’ve been losing weight, probably not for long, so, I think I will just keep the size 36s and wait until I actually fit into the 16s.

I’ve made a mini-goal of hitting 199.9 I haven’t been to “onederland” since 2011! (I think! I’ve lost track really….but it’s been a while!) When I hit that goal, I’m going to buy myself a brand new outfit. Nothing super fancy because I DO want to keep going past 199.9, but, it is a mini goal, right? πŸ™‚

Lazy Sunday

Yesterday was tough. I went to a Trades of Hope party with a friend of mine. Trades of Hope is an amazing organization. They have partnered with several countries to help women pull themselves out of poverty by teaching them a trade, buying the items they make, and selling them via what they call Compassion Entrepreneurs. If you’ve ever gone to any “home parties” for like Scentsy, or Party Lite, or anything similar, it was sorta like that.

The host served typical party foods, chips, hummus, cookies, etc etc, but, she also had some Atkins friendly foods! I had cheese, cauliflower, cucumbers, and some ranch.

It was nice to have some time to converse with other people, and to learn about this great thing that Trades of Hope is doing. I was proud of myself for staying on plan, even tho I eyeballed the No-bake Cookies REALLY hard, and the chocolate covered raisins were very tempting.

Today is going to be a lazy Sunday. I’m making Atkins friendly Chicken Alfredo with spaghetti squash for the noodles. I’m also making a a loaf of bread for the little miss.

Next week we have a lot going on! We’ve got to get the turkeys done. I’m ready for them to be gone! They pick on the chickens, they’ve decided that jumping over the fence is a great idea, but then they can’t figure out how to get BACK. So, that means that we have to chase them down, toss them back over the fence, and then put them up for the evening. They’re just stupid! If you’ve seen the movie Free Birds, it’s really just like the turkeys on the farm. Absolutely idiotic!

In just 3 weeks my mom and son will be here for a visit! My son went down to help my mom out for a while in Texas while my stepdad has to be away for work. He’s been doing really great down there, tho I do miss him so very much. We all cannot wait until he comes home!

Two week Induction weigh in!

SO! Today is two weeks on induction.

The official weigh in is……




WOOHOO!!! I lost 12.6 pounds this last 2 weeks. *dances a little jig*

I went from a BMI of 34.06 to 32.14!!

My scale also says that I’ve lost .6 pounds from 12 weeks ago! *dances another jig*

I think I actually might need to eat more. I only ate twice yesterday. :-/

Now I’ve got to make a menu for this week. πŸ™‚



No no… not THOSE Temptations!

I’m talking about FOOD temptations!

Today I made fish for dinner. I NORMALLY buy Swai, but this time I couldn’t find it in the freezer section of the commissary. This time I got some Arrowtooth Flounder. I’d never heard of it before, but I know that we like flounder that we can get locally at the farmers market, so, I thought I would give it a try!

The dish I made out of it the first time was delicious! I honestly couldn’t have thought that it would have been any better! Man was it good! So, I thought tonight that we would go ahead and just have it with some seasoning on top and that we would be able to taste the actual flavor of the fish. Boy was that a bad idea!!! It was not good at all! LOL

Nobody really liked it, but I did manage to eat my serving because I was hungry. Well, hubby decided that he needed a pizza while I was taking the kiddo to rehearsal, so when I got home I was assaulted with the smell of wonderful pizza. I gave in slightly to the temptation. I put a slice on my plate, and promptly picked all the toppings and cheese off the crust and set the plate aside. My husband looked at the plate, then to me, and said “Aren’t you going to eat that?” and I said “Nope. You know I’m not eating that, so it was a silly question to ask.” So, I fed most of the crust to the dogs (who were more than happy to help me clean my plate!) and smiled. He then walked in with a chocolate lava cake (one of my most favorite things on the planet!!!!) and proceeded to slowly eat it with moans and groans of enjoyment. He kept asking me “Are you SURE you don’t want any?” and I just smiled and said “I’m sure.” I then pulled up an old picture of myself from when I was skinny and put it on the laptop screen and said “Hey look at this!” and he smiled real big, and I said “By not eating that, I’m going to look like this again.” He gave a chuckle and said “Well, I guess if I can’t tempt you with this, I might as well get used to mashed fauxtatoes, huh?” I couldn’t help but laugh! He’s right! I’ve been tempted quite a few times in the last 2 weeks, and I haven’t caved yet!

That being said, I don’t INTENTIONALLY put myself into situations that I will be tempted, but I can’t just not go places because there will be food that are not on plan for me. Thanksgiving is coming up and I won’t be at home. There will be all kinds of food there, and I will just have to make sure that I have other options. I’ve already talked to our host about making a separate bowl of mashed “fauxtatoes” for me. She said that she would eat them with me if I wanted her to. I told her she didn’t have to. πŸ™‚

Anyways! It’s time for Greys Anatomy, so, I need to finish this up so I can put my focus on that. πŸ˜‰
